On April 29, 2026, an important meeting regarding the water conservation and recharge of ponds was held at Jawahar Bhawan in Lucknow under the chairmanship of Commissioner, Rural Development Mr. G.S. Priyadarshi (GS Priyadarshi). In the presence of Professor Dr. Rahul Singh and Dr. Nikhilesh from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the meeting featured detailed discussions on the catchment areas of ponds, scientific measures for water conservation, and effective strategies for recharge. The Commissioner emphasized the need for coordination between MGNREGA and BHU, directing that a comprehensive and practical project be prepared and presented to ensure the conservation and sustainable management of water resources.
